Cat and Ian both come from a farming background, growing up in NSW. The couple have worked in the agricultural sector in different roles. Ian spent time as an agronomist and Cat in agricultural communications – even writing a series of award-winning books for primary school students.

This passion and knowledge of Australia’s food and fibre industries is reflected in both Cat and Ian’s Herbert & Co Honeybee business. They currently have 34 hives, with plans to grow in the coming years.

Contributing to both local and global food systems is incredibly important to them. Cat and Ian hope to work alongside farmers in areas where honey bee populations are declining.
